Eric Dishman gets a new kidney!
Originally this post was going to be called: Eric Dishman needs a new kidney. However last week one of Eric Dishman’s colleagues at Intel has volunteered to be a kidney donor. If you recall Eric’s visit to UCSF he mentioned his condition and recently had posted further about his prognosis: http://obayley.com/eric/.
So it was with great joy that I read his response to my request to repost his blog.
Jeff, thanks for your mail. In fact, I have good news to share…last week, an Intel colleague (who I did not previously know) came forward to donate. We’re a match, and surgery is coming up Sept 24th in Portland. Will be on medical leave the rest of this year recovery, and then hopefully better than new. Please let folks know there things have worked out…and I will try to post an update on that website this weekend.
Isn't that great news? What an amazing field we work where someone can save someone else’s life by being an organ donor. I am thrilled that one the world’s visionary voices in health care will live on to fight the good fight.
